We would like to inform you of an important development regarding the 3G network in Australia and its subsequent decommissioning by mobile network providers. Commencing from the 15th of December 2023, Australia’s 3G networks will gradually be shut down. We would like to outline the implications of this change for your operations and emphasise the need to take appropriate action in a timely manner.
The scheduled shutdown dates for the major carriers are as follows:
Vodafone: 15th December 2023
Telstra: 30th June 2024
Optus: September 2024
You may be wondering why the carriers are discontinuing the 3G network.
