What do you enjoy most about your role at Gamma Solutions?
Every day is different, as a Field Service Engineer I enjoy the range of projects I work on and the variety of sites I go to, which allows me to constantly learn and grow. I also appreciate the team I work with, the collaborative environment and the opportunity to learn new skills and troubleshooting techniques from colleagues.
What’s a hobby or activity you enjoy outside of work that might surprise your colleagues?
I play musical instruments like guitar and keyboard but just the basic chords. Playing guitar while my kids sing together is fun and a good bonding moment for us.
I also love cooking – preparing Filipino dishes (for potluck) when there’s a casual get-together with friends.
I recently got my recreational fishing licence; my camping buddies convinced me to try fishing. Initially I thought fishing is boring, but I realized it’s a good way to spend time with friends, relax and relieve stress.
If you could have dinner with any three people, dead or alive, who would they be?
My late father and grandparents. Probably will cook for them my version of adobo (meat braised in vinegar, soy sauce, and garlic) and pinakbet (vegetable stew) and for dessert – biko (sticky rice cake). It will be an awesome night for sure!
What’s a recent book, podcast, or show that you’d recommend and what did you learn from it?
My cousin gave me this book – MOTIVATE (8 Secrets of Successful Parenting) by Peter and Deonna Tan-Chi.
I do believe that everything starts with the family, where children learn their first lessons about values, and how to treat others—with kindness, respect, and understanding. This book is about the real-life experiences of the Tan-Chi family and their approach to parenting guided by biblical principles. My wife and I have gained some insights from this book and still trying our best to apply it. As parents, we are still a work in progress.
What’s one thing on your bucket list that you hope to accomplish one day?
To visit Israel one day and see the birthplace of Christianity. I want to see the places mentioned in the Bible – where Lord Jesus Christ lived, preached and performed miracles. For me it will be a spiritually enriching experience.
